Here's the thing. reddit r/robotics are talking about this. Most are not impressed at all. They believe the tech is 20 years behind. Showing a bipedal robot walking slowly means nothing. Showing a standing robot that is animated and talking to someone also means nothing. The standing robot likely cannot also walk. The talking robot is absolutely teleoperated. It is being controlled by a human, and that is a human speaking and interacting through the robot. Elon Musk lies and cheats, and manipulates truth. He is infamous for that. They are showing tech demos when in reality a finished product is probably 10+ years away. This is the same Elon who has been selling Full Self Driving since what, 2015 or 2016? He said that in one year they would have unattended full self driving! How many Tesla owners paid around 10K for that and their cars are now OLD / broken down / sold to someone else? Just recently this year they finally have attended full self driving. If you aren't paying full attention you get strikes, and after so many strikes you get kicked out of the program for a time. Musk is a scammer, there is an insane amount of evidence to prove this. He hypes and oversells things to boost stock and investors, sadly. His whole Mars thing, absolutely horse shite. Most of what he boasts about or claims, all stunts to convince people to throw money at his stocks.
