I was quite little (very early GenX) during the Apollo missions, but a precocious little space geek, absolutely obsessed with it. For so much of my life since I have missed the sense of excitement and positive futuring that imbued the US space program. The confident belief that humans were capable of innovating GOOD THINGS, dreaming BIG dreams.
It was the MSM that shat in the face of the US space program. (((They))) refused even to cover the missions at some point. Too busy selling mouthwash, racial conflict, and war. At just the point where those media could have played a role in making people's minds and spirits better, they chose to take the low path. And kept it up, and kept it up, and got worse and worse...

The absolutely most amazing thing I’ve ever seen and I watched the “Moon landing “ live on our brand new color TV when I was 16 years!!
Showing your age there, I too watched it live, and was admonished for asking who the photographer was, seeing as they were filming Armstrong's feet, and therefore being the 'first' out of the craft.
The TV camera was on one of the four lunar lander legs. It was called MESA (modular equipment storage assembly). There were demonstrations of its location and deployment prior to the mission, and drawings in various outreach articles/items. I always feel sad seeing how people with the entire internet at their fingertips can claim that technology that's dogbark simple by today's standards somehow couldn't exist 60 years ago, when technical innovation was being unleashed on an unprecedented scale worldwide.
But this is an era where sub midwits comprise the bulk of those using the fingertip internet. It's easier to say NUH UH than understand all the technical and engineering steps and stages in all the gajillions of innovations that led to every part of these amazing missions. Each step and stage of which, and all their patents, are also lookupable on that fingertip internet.

So isn’t the moon like +250 degrees on the sun and -200 degrees in the shade? So you are going to need a pretty crazy temperature control system. Run on what? Batteries? Ok. Then what? You are going to pack a car because that looks cool. Weight restrictions not really a thing back in the 60’s. Run on what? Batteries? Ok. And you have all the life support systems. Run on? Batteries? Ok. And so much more. Where did they store all these batteries?
There are an endless number of ways to pull that hoax apart.

I think people are so awake and angry that won't happen. People have been reporting huge early voting turnouts.
