Sister Irma taught all this to my class in the fifth grade. I am now 67 years old. I don't see this "lie" you profess. Sunday is the first day of the week. It is known Jesus was not born on December 25th. We celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25th to blend with the Germanic Tribes' celebrations. Don't remember why the Church hierarchy thought so much of the Germanic Tribes, perhaps something to do with the missing tribes.
