The big Dem cities in Michigan are predominantly black. Michigan has always swung with the black cities and the Union vote. The dems have lost both. And there is a new dynamic in play, the muslim vote. There was a large muslim vote in the primaries centered on the palestinian issue where the muslim community voted for unaligned. This open the door for a Cornel West vote in Detroit who is pro palestinian.
