Just going by sealed indictments, it would mean at least 0.5% of the population, right? Each indictment can contain multiple individuals, so it's anywhere from 500K - a few million. I'm sure each of us will personally know or have met someone on an indictment.
I know I know a few. One was a man I considered a brother. Up until the day he was arrested. The sad part about his case is that his "step-daughter" was allowing it on her mother's orders. And neither the girl, nor her mother ever bothered to turn him in until the guy told the girl she couldn't go out with her friends one night because she was needed at home to watch her younger siblings while he and her mother were at work. The mother had to work late and the guy was working out of town. Next thing we all knew, dude was in jail, mother and girl were spilling the beans to the sheriff's dept. Came to find out later on that this woman had been grooming her daughter the whole time, and had done a similar thing with the girl's birth father before she met my former friend. And my former friend knew about it, but still decided to date the woman. The woman is still free, still has custody of her children, and is with another dude. Word on the street is that the new guy may be in a similar predicament as my former friend, with my former friend's daughter, who's mother is the same woman he was entrapped by.
Now, I know it sounds like I'm defending the guy's behavior. I'm not. As a survivor of pedophilia myself, I believe all pedos should be imprisoned or hanged. However, this sort of child grooming op happens more than people realize. As a side note, my former buddy is a survivor of pedophilia himself. Whether that played a part in his actions, or not, I don't know. I had quit talking to him a couple years before his arrest because he fell into the opioid addiction (along with the girl's mother), so that's another aspect to consider in his case, as well as the mother grooming her own daughter. I do believe his addiction played a role in the pedo behavior. The addiction was used as a means of control, and the first incident with the girl arose from it, as well.
My point here is that there are a lot of pedo cases where grooming is involved, but it isn't always being orchestrated by a male. There are a lot of cases where the children are brought into pedophilia by their mother as a way to control and manipulate the men in the mother's life. And it's an aspect of pedophilia I think our LEO agencies need to really consider and look into.
How many pedo cases involve the mother grooming her own children and turning them over to be molested? It's a question that's very rarely ever asked, much less answered.
I agree. It's all around us. Grooming their own children for personal benefit. But also simply training their daughters to be opportunistic, that this is "the way to get ahead" in the world. After all, seducing the boss to siphon off the earnings through blackmail or a lawsuit is a lot easier than building a company yourself. It's a modern day, covert slavery.
There's a guy on rumble who goes over the logistics on this. Here's one of his videos.
All sorts of illogical promotion decisions at work, expenditures that make no sense, consulting contracts and the like, suddenly make sense when you uncover the hidden criminal element. I'm sure I know a few through work.
And personally I'm pretty sure I know a guy who became trapped: seduced (maybe I'm giving too much credit to him) maybe even with a spiked drink and then filmed for kompromat. Became and still is quite wealthy through his cooperation, but gradual alienation from his wife, and (I suspect) living with a painful secret, and utlilized to pass lies in his professional life. Truly a cancer throughout our society. Thank God it's being rooted out and destroyed.
Isn't it also possible that a person can be charged in several cases (e.g. different indictments in different states)? If it can be a 1 to many relationship, then any assumption about the number of people involved is speculation.

Yes. I am sure we would. What a sick world.

Yes. Definitely a lot of speculation, but built from a known number. And of course that could decrease with plea deals that remain secret as well.
