As you know I've posted a week or so ago about the situation in WNC. I can tell you this FEMA and the state hasn't helped a bit. Most people got denied the $750 including me after calling FEMA three times and visiting their tent. The FEMA folks at the tent in Arden NC were nice but powerless. The did have a FEMA photographer there to make FEMA look good. I wasn't impressed.
Truth is the locals have gone above and beyond. The media WLOS ABC affiliate is a complete joke. WWNC 570 AM helped with local issues such as search and rescue and helping coordinate supplies live over the air, but was very hesitant to call out the State, FEMA, or Governor Cooper with the excuse 'talk politics later'.
This area will never be the same again. So many lost their livelihoods and businesses. The death count is being covered up. Believe it. The state slow walked everything. Believe it. I believe its been done on purpose.
Keep us in your prayers. So many dislodged from normal life, and so many missing and most likely perished. I hope we can return to normalcy but I doubt it will happen. This has changed the area for the foreseeable future.
I saw a video of a group of fellows who repair bridges for a living. They are going around and doing temporary bridges to homes cut off since the flood. They are doing this on their own dime. So far they’ve done more than forty!
Yep. I agree, locals are doing 99% of everything with FEMA assisting in landgrab for the WEF and goons like Gov. Cooper.
Governor Cooper is vying for a Club Gitmo vacation.
He certainly deserves it. He should have had 5000 National Guard on standby as soon as the winds calmed down. He should have had them assist in cell towers as we use cell phones as our main source of communication. That should have been done within 48 hours max. Also at the same time with search and rescue immediately. Also he should have helped with electric restoration by transporting supplies, poles, electric wires and helped with logistics on all three mentioned here.
He failed so terribly no way was it just incompetence.
the least FEMA or the NG could have done as soon as the winds calmed down was to try to fly in and drop water, food, blankets and long range walkie talkies so people could communicate.
