Property taxes are proof that you never own your property, only lease it. My fear is if Trump lowers or eliminates income tax, the states will raise their taxes. They'll see the citizens as having more money and will promptly want more. Remember, the greedy bastards in DC are not unlike the greedy bastards in the state capitals.
