Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way

Would love to hear what kind of clients you come across, but in my experience its not the rich or privileged that are as brainwashed as the "aspiring to be rich". The ones solidly on the rat race and very little time to think about anything.
I work with non profits and community groups. Average Joes. And when i'm done I hang out in the bar and listen to people and engage them. And when I fly to and from, half the screens are tuned to CNN.
So how do these people react when you make a typical comment such as how expensive everything is these days, compared to a few years ago?
They agree, and they bemoan the fact that everything is soooo bad. But any attempt to convert their awareness of pain and suffering to politics or leadership (lack of) or government just evaporates. Brainwashed sheep... there are 10'and 10's of millions of them in my opinion.
That's it! Don't you see? The enemy soldiers who were ready to burn down the country in 2020 are now defeated and zero energy.
These are 10s and 10s of millions who wont be bothered to vote for anyone. This means, even all the fraud they can do won't cut it.
As an added bonus we can give them a parting shot to demoralize them sow the spark. My favourites?
(Keep it very neutral for maximum effectiveness)
"Man, I would gladly take the mean tweets and crude jokes if it can bring down prices a little bit, amirite?"
"Makes you wonder when you see them attacking him so badly ... wonder why"
"Caught her on some interview the other day and seriously shocked. How did she even get there?"
"I hope we don't go back to the times when ISIS was beheading journalists and Kim was threatening nukes. You remember those days rite?"
They don't need to agree with you. They don't need to gush about Trump. It just needs to sit in a corner in their head. Job done.
