Voting lines have been extraordinarily long here in east Tennessee. I voted on the 3rd day of early voting and waited in line for an hour. Others are reporting even longer lines at other precincts.
I tried to gauge the people I saw in line... those appearing to be on the abnormal spectrum (green hair, nose rings, etc.) vs. the sane people... while it's hard to judge a person based on external appearances, 95% of those I saw seemed to fall into the "sane" category, with an abundance of caps that displayed their veteran status from the Korean, Vietnam, and more recent wars.
My impression -- based on scant evidence of observation -- suggested to me that the good people of east Tennessee are turning out in droves.
I was pretty sure the lone mask wearer I saw today was voting straight blue 😆. But most of the voters I saw here in MD were similar to what you're describing. That can't be a bad thing.
