BRICS want to be able to buy and sell goods with whom ever in whatever currency they wish.
And not have their “assets” (treasuries) seized over a disagreement. It will still be a while though; “little by little then all at once”.
In the last 30 years 3 rulers have tried to sell oil not using the U.S, dollar, Muammar Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein and Putin. I'm not saying the BRICS+ nations are better than us, but what they are doing on the money side is not bad. And yes we have screwed the pooch on the sactions side.
