I am no fan of this brand. But I doubt that this is legitimate.

This brand was founded by the friend and rival of Cristian Dior, Cristóbal Balenciaga Eizaguirre. His life (and name) is very well documented. Real person, real name, real history.

The name means "house or place of the whaler". Whale being "ballena".
