Voted early in Otero County, NM today ( red enclave in a blue state).
Paper ballots marked with blue felt markers, and a ballot scanner. No receipt from the ballot scanner, which I found slightly suspicious (I couldn’t see the brand or model of ballot scanner).
Aren’t the ballot scanners supposed to give you a receipt of some sort?
Plenty of scanners do not offer reciepts? where i used to vote in MA there was nothing.
Felt makers is sus, they can bleed through and cause misreads on the the other side if it is double sided.
Here in Pima County AZ the scanner produced a receipt with a QR code to track my ballot. According to the info my signature was verified and my ballot counted.
Take a photo of your ballot. Email it to your self for a proper date stamp on it. It will match your photo's date.
Not sure this would be useful but better than nothing for later; if there is any chance of verification.
I thought markers weren't supposed to be used with machines? Did that change?
No. all papermate felt pens here in NY
Here in Fl we don’t get receipts either (ES&S scanners.)
Exactly same here in NY: no serial number, no signature , no receipt
The fuckin lottery tickets even have serial numbers.
If they can put serial numbers on lottery tickets but not ballots, it only means one thing
