In times of political uncertainty and social division, many turn to faith for guidance and solace. Fr. Chad Ripperger, a respected Catholic priest, theologian, and exorcist, has composed a powerful prayer titled “Consecration of the Election to the Blessed Virgin Mary.” This prayer offers a spiritual perspective on the electoral process, inviting believers to entrust the outcome to divine providence.
Fr. Ripperger’s prayer speaks to those who feel our nation has strayed from its moral foundations. It acknowledges human limitations in solving societal problems and turns to Mary, our intercessor and spiritual mother, for assistance.
The prayer begins by addressing Mary with her traditional titles, emphasizing her role as an intercessor between humanity and Her Son. It then humbly requests her intercession for the country’s spiritual renewal.
A key aspect of this prayer is its focus on the integrity of the election process. It asks for wisdom in choosing leaders who will govern with moral principles aligned with Catholic teachings. The prayer doesn’t endorse specific candidates or parties, but rather seeks divine guidance for voters to select leaders who will work for the common good.
Fr. Ripperger’s words also touch on themes of national repentance and conversion. The prayer expresses hope for a return to spiritual and moral values, seeing this as crucial for the country’s wellbeing.
While deeply rooted in Catholic theology, this prayer may resonate with many who seek a higher purpose in civic engagement. It reminds us that regardless of political affiliations, we can unite in hoping for leadership that upholds moral integrity and serves the true needs of all citizens.
As we approach election season, Fr. Ripperger’s prayer offers a moment of reflection. It invites us to consider our civic duties not just as political acts, but as part of a larger spiritual journey.

Just curious...
Why pray to Mary when we already have The great High Priest in Jesus Christ who continually intercedes on our behalf?
Check Chronicles and Kings--the Queen Mother (Gebirah) is a hugely important in the Davidic Kingship. She was a visible sign of the king’s legitimate rule. The King respects her, and she has her own throne (see 1 Kings 2:19). She is his confidante and advisor: “Say to the king and the queen mother,” God’s instructions to Jeremiah begin in Jer 13:18. It is good to get such an important person on your side, e.g. Adonijah getting Bathsheba to put in a word for him with Solomon (1 Kings 2: 13-25).
Very biblical.
The Wedding at Cana 3 When the wine failed, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” 4 And Jesus said to her, “O woman, what have you to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”
Christ listens to His Mother.
Mary Immaculate, living tabernacle of the Divinity, where the eternal Wisdom lies hidden to be adored and served by angels and men; Queen of heaven and of earth, beneath whose sway are subject all things that are lower than God; Patroness of the United States of America, sorrowful and mindful of our own sinfulness and the sins of our nation, we come to thee, our refuge and hope.
Knowing that our country cannot be saved by our own works, and mindful of how much our nation has departed from the ways of thy Son, we humbly ask that thou wouldst turn thine eyes upon our country to bring about its conversion. We consecrate to thee the integrity of the upcoming election and its outcome, so that what is spiritually and morally best for the citizens of our country may be accomplished, and that all of those who are elected would govern according to the spiritual and moral principles which will bring our nation into conformity with the teachings of thy Son.
Give grace to the citizens of this land so that they will choose leaders according to the Sacred Heart of thy Son, that His glory may be made manifest, lest we be given the leaders we deserve.
Trusting in the providential care of God the Father and thy maternal care, we have perfect confidence that thou wilt take care of us and will not leave us forsaken. O Mary Immaculate, pray for us. Amen.
