Any others out there?
I wonder if a cure doesn't exist for my disease, much like many others, that isn't propagated because it's not profitable.

I was diagnosed 1 year ago and I am 48 years old. How does that even happen?. Put my doc in check and made them run additional tests. Sure enough I have type 1. They said no insulin yet but will require a pump within 6 months. Over a year and my pancreas is still working fine. So still not on insulin. I have other autoimmune diseases that have been confirmed but also require no treatment at this time. I would be happy for someone to have a remedy cause the "wait and see" approach does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy. My GAD65 is over 300 but c-peptide is high at 14.
I'm glad you don't need insulin, but that diagnosis makes no sense at all.
There are a number of ways to decrease your risk of T1D. Vanadium in particular has shown the ability to protect your insulin-producing cells, in animal studies.
But I think sticking with a low carb diet is the best medicine. As long as your blood sugar is in control, you don't manifest any diabetic symptoms, no matter what they say you have.
I agree and several of my other doctors agree that is doesn't make sense which led my endocrinologist to say I was a medical marvel. Not a real great answer and she certainly did not appreciate me pushing. One of my other non treated autoimmune problems is thyroid related so I firmly believe it's my thyroid not my pancreas.
