In NC, I attempted to help a family get citizenship and my offer to assist was declined. Tge reason given was that they would lose all their government benefits. I no longer live in NC but doubt they ever will care to be citizens of The United States.
That was the 2nd and last time in my life I had the fact that illegal immigrants have it made here thrown in my face.

When I was 18, I worked with disabled adults and children that had violent outbursts. I am 5ft tall and weigh 100 lbs. We were trained to do a "take down" which sounds worse than it was. Essentially, it was the proper way to gently take control of the behavior and with our arms, in like a tight hugging motion subdue them until behavior passed or medical intervention was administered. Never EVER should anyone being hog tied. This is insane. If this is a school that handles behavioral students, they should be trained how to handle this without injury to the child or to themselves. Period. I hope the parents get a good lawyer!
Thanks for reminding me! Penn State refunded $5500 tuition that was paid in cash, without my son's knowledge and took a fasfa loan out in the same amount and no one has yet to explain why.
Students are legally adults and we parents were shut down quickly when we got involved. So my husband and I hired our son a lawyer to handle it.
No way they need to charge an interest bearing student loan when his tuition was paid in full.
Then, their zero lack of explanation for some of the classes they told him he HAD to take that now do not even count towards his degree.
NOT a happy parent at all! I am praying and praying and praying my son changes his mind and goes into a trade!

Technically, there are laws in place that employers have 3 business days to verify an employees identification with the government. Last I knew, it was 30k+ per employee if this wasn't completed and owner would lose their business if it became habitual.
I own some land in Michigan and they tried tripling my taxes. I disputed it heavily and won. It makes me very sad to see how far Michigan has failed the residents. Corrupt doesn't even begin to describe it. My democrat Mother said she is voting Republican so there is hope .... I hope.
