How fucking retarded. Seriously.
Ok. Sorry for the knee jerk reaction. It is so fucking retarded because like...they know you can buy it in toothpaste, right? Like, it is a topical "treatment" there is zero reason it needs to be consumed. It isn't like you drink fluoridated water, it goes from your belly to your blood stream and then to your tooth root to make your dentin stronger.
Gaaawwwwwrrrrr I feel like people have spent decades eating crayons and lead paint chips.
2012: The FDA added a new warning label, explicitly stating “Poison” on fluoride toothpaste products shipped as of April 7.
It is my understanding that the flouride we ingest through water is higher amounts than that in toothpaste.
I heard the fluoride in the water is a chemical waste from other processes. Apparently, the fluoride in toothpaste is not the same??
Additionally, the production of phosphate fertilizers generates highly toxic hydrogen fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride gases as byproducts, which are then recovered and used in various industrial applications, including water fluoridation.
I understand it to be a byproduct of the fertilizer industry. They didn't know where to dump it (couldn't leave it in the fertilizer) so they lobbied for it to be in our drinking water. And I think all flouride is the same. I'm no expert.
I remember reading that the Nazis gave fluoride to the inmates in the death camps to keep them docile. Did it start being used in the US after Operation Paperclip?
I believe there are two types of fluoride. EDIT: yep. There are about 7 types of fluoride, but two that seem to be most prevalent: sodium fluoride and stannous fluoride
Fluoride is a toxic waste. Fluoride is 100% soluble in water. We import fluoride from China. For some reason the Chinese fluoride isn't 100% soluble.
Tea has fluoride in it.
IIRC ---- black tea from Thailand has the most.
Fluoride does get absorbed and then deposited into bones and teeth. With disastrous consequences for kids and teens growing.
Fluoride poisoning, which you will get from total exposure if the tap water is fluoridated, cause dental fluorosis.
Mild form used to be uncommon, but it now affects the vast majority of teenagers. Texture and cosmetic damage to the teeth ( porous stains ).
Moderate and severe forms, which is permanent structural damage to the teeth, used to be rare, but affects 25% of teenagers last time I read the data, so likely higher now.
Mmm....that isn't how fluoride works though. I am not saying it doesn't get absorbed into the body at all, I am saying that isn't how it effects teeth. Accourding to robbits:
"Fluorapatite Formation: Fluoride bonds with calcium and phosphate ions in tooth enamel, converting hydroxyapatite (the natural mineral) into fluorapatite. This results in a more resistant and less soluble enamel, making it more difficult for acids to dissolve and cause decay.
Acid Resistance: Fluorapatite reduces the solubility of enamel in acid, making it more resistant to the demineralizing effects of plaque acids and sugars. This reduces the rate of enamel decay and prevents further acid erosion.
Remineralization: Fluoride promotes the remineralization of tooth enamel in areas that have been decalcified by acids. This process involves the deposition of calcium and phosphate ions, which helps to reverse early stages of tooth decay and create a more resistant enamel surface."
I cannot be more clear that this :
Dental fluorosis is caused by ingestion of fluoride during teeth formation. There is no controversy over this.
You act like your brevity explains your point.
Like wtf are you talking about? Do you not understand what I was saying?
Me:
Blueholes want fluoride. They wants it in their precious waters. They wants it in their precious waters to make their teeth strong like bull. They are freaking out that they can't have their precious fluoride in their water...now whatterthey going to do? They can buy toothpaste. Fluoride is supposed to be topical, not consumed. It works by *see previous post Consuming it won't make teeth stronger.
Not once did I say it isn't absorbed. I just said that is not how it makes teeth "stronger".
Now your turn.... What has you responding all sassy pants with me?
Literally.
Nah. Fluoridated water.
IKR...If they weren't retarded they wouldn't be libs.
