She got to the bottom line. Bravo! I think if is useful to remember our first awakening and use that story as an opening line when helping a normie deal with this.
Starting off with, "I fell for the lies, too, because I am a decent, trusting person, but then _______ jarred me awake. The media's lies all the sudden became clear. And I saw their over-all agenda."
Identifying with them (as also being wrong yourself) will make it easier for them to admit their misjudgment. And saying your own decency and trusting nature was the cause will give them less reason to buffer truth now.
