I went thru this with my adult children who are Millennials 8 years+ back. I think it’s a peer thing with making these groups making unfounded comments or lies on FB etc as they use the liberal media to receive their info. So I made a promise to myself to just love them unconditionally and not to mention ANYTHING about politics. It has worked. I decided to step back but the same thing has heated up again leading up to the election. The grimaces, the mocking smirks, the anger etc. is hard as I thought that as they matured as adults, they would finally wake up and realise they have been lied to and have wasted years ‘flogging a dead horse’ - terrible analogy I’m sorry, but the lies are real and we are watching lies (propaganda) in all its depravity. We have a choice. Cause grief and a possible family rift or ignore and let them see and hear for themselves. The decision for me was easy. I believe it’s going to get worse, but my family are a God-given gift and prayer and love got me thru this once and it will get me thru it again. God Bless.
