Fact: Our Nation was founded on Christianity, so it makes sense to display the basic rules which underpin it. NOTHING in the Ten Commandments can be interpreted as offensive, even if you personally disagree with them. They should be displayed along with Old Glory and The Pledge of Allegiance IN EVERY CLASSROOM.
These freaking judges seem to forget what principals our nation was founded on. They think our forefathers wanted to separate our government from spiritual principles.... from in God we trust?? I think not!
I get that.
But I don't like the Mandate on this. This could start a very dangerous slippery slope!
As an atheist, I think it is a misguided attempt to do the right thing.
The kids need to learn ethics and civics in grade school. Philosophy would be great, but their minds are not likely ready for that until college.
Teach them WHY they should respect their parents. Teach them WHY they should not steal. Teach them WHY they shouldn’t commit adultery. The FEAR of God is NOT appropriate. Stop teaching people to be fearful. Kids are smarter than you think and you have to do a lot more than just provide slogans on a wall.
Well said!
100%👌
Honestly I think it’s the right call. Otherwise it’ll open up a slew of legal battles to display all tenants of all religions as a free speech & religious favoritism battle in publicly-funded schools.
It can not be mandated but it should allowed to be chosen.
