Mothers can coach their children into saying they were molested by a father, boyfriend, etc. It needs to be more than just a single accusation and conviction for death penalty to be carried out.
Also, children lie their asses off all the time. My wife sees this a lot in youth counseling, and we see this even with our kids (blaming the brother or the cat for ones own misdeeds). There are several instances of children accusing innocent people of heinous things, who were killed by a mob. There was a big story out of Russia a couple years back that immediately comes to mind.

Does the law stipulate that accusations alone can/will result in execution? I think that could help the discussion here.
