Gross right? But seriously… thinking about how many people are probably caught up in this nightmare, how many one hit wonders or bands you may have heard in the past and thought “gee, how did they not make it, they sounded so good?”… how many of those bands or singers didn’t drink the kool-aid and were subsequently kicked out of the party because they didn’t want to be vile human beings?
Hilariously, I’d toss Nickelback in there because of the widespread hate even though they’re not like, terrible… but for one hit wonders, I’d throw out maybe a band like Fastball, or Jimmy’s Chicken Shack as (hopefully) contenders for morally upright artists. Just a thought :) Honorable mention, Queensryche
Knew a guy who walked away from a big money record contract. Was tight-lipped about it. Strong believer in Christ. Great voice, impressive guitar skills. Nobody would know his name today. It didn't make sense to me then, but recent years have put his decision in a better light.
I worked with Corbin Allred (Teen Angel, ran at the same time as Sabrina). A director for one of the projects told me Corbin gave up something like 10-20 Million per year to postpone an unpaid mission for a few years to share the message about Jesus Christ. He said no & wanted to share his beliefs about Jesus Christ more than he wanted the money.
He has done many independent films after that, though Hollywood has never taken him back because he chose Jesus over the money Hollywood offered.
I have so much respect for him. He is genuine & was so much fun to work with when I did.
I keep hoping he gets involved with Angel Studios or another amazing moral studio.
Good to know that there are people who stay true and keep their soul even when the temptations are high.
