I want to make it illegal to teach pronouns. It worked for me. Someone asked me what my pronoun was and I told him I skipped that grade in school. They just stared at me.

Anyway the meme is about so-called "neopronouns", not pronouns in general, so it doesn't matter much.

Yeah, I know, just having a little grammar fun. It’s just a little silly to say “I want to make it illegal to teach pronouns.” Throw that neo- prefix in there!
Of course, the issue is that “they” does have a centuries-old history of being used as a third-person singular pronoun, specifically when the gender is unknown, and then you have historical oddities like “thon”, a third-personal singular from the 1933 Webster’s dictionary. Maybe 1932. So being against “neo” doesn’t quite cover everything. English! One of the most fluid, malleable, and fascinating languages in the world.
Let’s just be glad it’s not like German, Latin, or Chinese, where there are strict rules about how the language can develop, with the latter two having their development actually handled by government authority.
