Remember when we were kids, the ingredients were pure, chips cooked in tallow, freshly baked buns, real prime cut meat, real cheese, real lettuce and onions. The only thing dodgy was the sauce.
Then the accountants and money men arrived, “Oy vey, this costs too much, we need to reduce costs, increase profits”.
The crap in that photo has become a lazy way of feeding lazy people, the enticement being low cost, the added benefit being they get sick, where their partner in crime big pharma enters the equation.
It all cyclical, it’s planned, it’s our greatest ally that leads the charge.
When I do burgers at home all the ingredients are fresh. I cook chips in a little butter and herbs in the oven after boiling them first.
Those are fries
I just assumed they weren’t from the US
Sam's club carries a potato chip that has only 3 ingredients. Potatoes, Olive Oil and Salt.
Boulder Canyon Kettle Potato Chips Olive Oil
I am concerned about the temp of the olive oil. However I found this article:
https://www.aboutoliveoil.org/does-frying-with-olive-oil-create-trans-fats
Now I'm also concerned with the quality of the Olive Oil. 😒
Still better than doritos though
edit: just learned that the skin on chickens is not good to eat:
"Chickens are monogastric animals that sort of hold on to the fat of what they consume. We feed chickens stuff like soy and corn and seed oils, so they literally become full of seed oils. Cows and other ruminants convert whatever they eat into mostly saturated fats"
Siete brand chips are pretty safe, but I heard Pepsi Co is purchasing them. So good bye to them.
Aw man, I love crispy chicken skin :(
Organic or free range, real butter, tallow, coconut or olive oil
❤💯but the “oy vey” should be implied by now🤣
