Basically, anybody who helped or financed the bringing in of any illegal aliens (NGO's), employed them (employers), or protected them from prosecution for illegal entry (city and state governments claiming "sanctuary city" status) are ALL subject to 10 years in prison for EACH violation.
Bring in 10? Get 100 years in prison.
Bring in 100? Get 1,000 years in prison.
If any illegal aliens or any citizens are killed by the illegals, and you helped the illegal?
Death penalty.
Here is a particularly interesting provision of this statute:
(c) Authority to arrest
No officer or person shall have authority to make any arrests for a violation of any provision of this section except officers and employees of the Service designated by the Attorney General, either individually or as a member of a class, and all other officers whose duty it is to enforce criminal laws.
Matt Gaetz decides who makes the arrests, not Katie Hobbs.
This means AG Gaetz can authorize Arizona police officers, sheriff deputies, and individual citizens to make arrests, and the governor of the state CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
So, she is clearly talking out her ass when she says her state will not help.
IT IS NOT HER DECISION.
Another interesting provision changes the Rules of Evidence that would normally apply in a criminal trial, so that witnesses can testify via video recording, rather than show up in the court room:
(d) Admissibility of videotaped witness testimony
Notwithstanding any provision of the Federal Rules of Evidence, the videotaped (or otherwise audiovisually preserved) deposition of a witness to a violation of subsection (a) who has been deported or otherwise expelled from the United States, or is otherwise unable to testify, may be admitted into evidence in an action brought for that violation if the witness was available for cross examination and the deposition otherwise complies with the Federal Rules of Evidence.
Everybody should read the statute that Homan keeps telling us about:
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1324
It is very comprehensive.
