Love the notion but this will never fly. The military does not want to close down any weapons tech, ever. The Russians just demonstrated a Mach 11 missile. Elon only gotten to Mach 10.
Or they sign it. And don’t stop research and Development. As they have with every bloody Arms limitation treaty.
Without enforcement mechanisms that go beyond a sternly worded letter and diplomatic/economic slap on the wrist.
It’s words on paper that make bleeding hearts feel better. But don’t actually solve or fix anything. And if you have a kinetic enforcement mechanism. For example signatories pledge to make War on treaty violators. To say prevent development of whatever experimental weapon system provoked the attack from completing.
Then you’ve got the problem of who decides when a Violation has occurred. Is it just one signatory nation with that power? Or do a majority need to declare a violation.
Or is an international body created to decide? And if it is. Then who decides who sits on it and what powers they have?
Make sure it's not just "countries", but also covers NGOs and other means of circumvention via cabal fuckers through legal loopholes etc
The problem is, people are assholes... and on one hand, we have to prepare for possibilities, but on the other that's part of the problem... like all the facilities in Ukraine etc
We don't always follow ONLY smart people. Everyone has good bits and bad bits from time to time. Nobody is perfect, not even Trump (who still believes vaxx is safe and effective and many other things that we don't believe to be true, but we still follow him). Just because you said, nobody would stop following him. People look at the content and if it resonates, they follow.
thats a bandwagon I could get on.

Ya!! Such an important step to save our planet.
All for this. If they are gonna cheat at least this makes it real hard and punishable with death by catapult.

Don't they already exist? And are doing a really fine job of prevention(/s).
