Trump's special representative's plan for Ukraine includes a phased lifting of sanctions against Russia - CNN.
▪️This measure is planned as an incentive for Moscow to participate in negotiations to end the war. Keith Kellogg himself voiced the plan back in April.
➖"The front lines will be frozen by a ceasefire and a demilitarized zone will be introduced. For agreeing to this, Russia will receive limited sanctions relief, and full relief will come only after signing a peace agreement that suits Ukraine," CNN reports.

*Sanctions don’t work and they do not affect Russia at all. They have been implementing new ways of trading between trading partners - for 2 years. *Putin has already said that due to Zelensky cancelling the elections, they don’t see him as legitimate leader and will not sit down to discuss a peace solution at all with him.
I'm thinking that peace talks might at least keep Ukraine from continuing the worst provocations against Russia and thus give Russia reason to wait it out until Trump returns to office. In short: the talks might prevent WWIII for now, then Trump can finish the job when he gets into office.
