I always tell this story:

I retired military officer shared it with me. When John Bolton was leaving the Bush administration the military had a party for him. The officers didn't really want to go, he was not well liked.

But there was nothing they could do but attend the party. So they proceeded to eat all of the cashews out of the peanut bowls on the tables before he arrived. 🤣
