Then do what the rest of us did. Advance in the job you have or work to get a better job. You're not supposed to be able to support yourself flipping burgers or stocking shelves.
That's not what he is saying. He is saying you need to remain eager to grow. Take the stocker job. Develop skills to be the team lead. Then the manager. Or go to the behind the scenes side and work in the logistics. Be uncontent with your current station and keep fighting your way up. Might take 15 years but eventually you'll know every job in a store, that's when you are in charge. Very few people come from the background you are imagining.
That, and having a currency that keeps it's value is important.
I'll tell you what the fuck is wrong with me. I've struggled to feed my family in my life. Never have I taken a handout from anybody. I worked harder and took care of buisness. And no some jobs are not meant to support yourself with. They are for young people to get started in the workforce and learn some ethics.
Get rid of the cards and go back to vouchers for specific products. Don't like it? Get a fucking job.

I was the child the of these people.
Their homes are not peaceful. Their minds are always uneasy, and their families will deteriorate.
I understand that, or at least I recognize that from outside of it.
