An Austin, Texas, man was sentenced to two years in prison for filing a tax return that falsely underreported the capital gains he earned from selling $3.7 million in bitcoins.
Another reason to abolish the IRS!
I don't care what anyone else thinks. This is an abuse of the tax code to punish those who want to protect the purchasing power of their savings.
He testified under penalty of perjury and lied.
The issue is that he never should have been put in the position where he needed to report at all. This is why we need Trump to eliminate this kind of belligerent abuse of Americans by the Fed/IRS. Protecting your purchasing power against inflationary monetary policy of the Fed has no business being considered a taxable event.
