Please take care in doing so to recognize that the rank and file do not make the orders. If you have an issue with what the US military does, 99% of your issue is most likely with their orders. Which come from Washington D.C. and Langley.
With that said, the presence of our military on US soil has deterred an amount of shit no one could ever quantify.
Ironically, the presence of our military on someone else's soil has caused most of our problems. So it turns out that George Washington was right. Whaaaat a surprise. /s
This is true. But, also, I wonder if the Founding Fathers realized that the Republic they were creating would become the #1 most powerful country on the planet. As the USA is that, now, I don't think it's possible to remain that without an army, especially in light of forces like the ChiComs. That does not mean I agree with the army we have. Because I do not.
Thank you. I’ll be honest, I was a real dumbass when I enlisted, thinking I was going to make a difference or something post 9/11. It’s been a long road. I’m not sure which was harder though-being active duty or the last 4 years. I feel as though we are all serving our country here. We’re all vets by now. I am grateful for everyone here.
The sentiment is appreciated, especially I'm sure, by the thousands still stuck in the middle east and elsewhere around the world this Christmas season.
However, this board most of all should understand by now that the military is not only not keeping you safe or working to protect this country or our way of life, but it has actively doing the opposite by doing the bidding of beltway scumbags for over two decades.
"Support the Troops" is unfortunately just another agency messaging campaign to make it unthinkable (or at the very least unpatriotic) to oppose the forever wars, and to ensure that lack of public support doesn't derail this gravy train like it did the one in Vietnam.
God is needs to be thanked. Lest God be the watchman the watchman waketh but in vain.
We military couldn't do it without God's help.
Thank you!
I believe serving in the military changed my life for the better. It was an honor, a pleasure, and a great learning experience.
Agree
They've kept us safe from what?
It is very easy to criticize the military.

The Founding Fathers never wanted a standing army.

Yeah, no show of force.
