Soldier should be sent back for marksmanship training.

At that range and the guy he hit clearly wasn't dead, was still alert and talking (not hit in neck / face) and didn't sound like he had a sucking chest wound either. Makes me think he was hit in an extremity like the leg since he quickly fell over.
