To be fair, America has its share of walk into the ocean types. Breaking the psyops will hopefully go a long way to fixing that for most. As a Canadian I would love to see some sort of cooperative relationship with a America that has been made great again. I think the 51st state is a trumpism to make a needed point. American oil and economic strength could benefit from our natural resources and Canada would benefit from American businesses coming to help facilitate a better use of those resources.
If I were given the option, I would recommend that 60+% of Americans walk into the ocean, probably. So it's good I'm not in charge.
The 51st State thing is an old, old joke. As you know.
Trump is a New Yorker. Let's just say that I might know something about that.
In New York City:
The hazing never ends. NEVER.
The hazing is always done to people we know and like. Hazing people we do not know and like will probably result in a knife fight. So ... no thank you.
The fact that the "51st State" is so old of a joke it's a groaner is a feature, for Trump. He is trolling. Troll, troll, troll. Troll Turd-eau right out of office.
The USA and Canada should remain the best of friends. But the Canadians should stop pretending they are superior to the USA, because it's ridiculous and annoying. And it should stop putting into place WEFfer cunts like Turd-eau.
Fine and dandy but it is not being delivered as a joke by Trump. At first it was, but in his repeated mentions of the topic without humor, he is clearly not regarding it as a joke; so we don't have to, either.
Remember, once upon a time, his entire candidacy for president was widely regarded, both here in the US and in Canada, as a joke.
EDIT: I should add: New York Humor is "Jewish Humor". Catskills. So the "Dead Pan, Straight Man" is always the funniest comedian on the stage. For example, between Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, Jerry was the funny guy for the low IQ, and Dean was the funny guy for the discerning. Dead Pan Humor is New York. And, the "if it's not funny now, wait until I say it fifty times" aspect of this humor appears to be something that is not landing with you. But does with us. Hah. Absurdism.
A joke works because there is an element of truth to it.
The thing holding Canada back from being great, is Canada.
The USA does not need Canada. Canadians would like to think that they are very important. They are not. They are welcome if they want to be a part of the success of North America. They can sit at home and stew if they do not. It won't matter, to the USA. Canada should figure that out, and soon. We have oil, gas, timber, maple syrup and salmon in the USA. We're good. And yes, I am simplifying to make a point.
P.S. I never cared that other people thought his candidacy was a joke. I know Trump for decades. Anyone who underestimates him or thinks he's stupid is going to have a very bad time. Also, anyone who thinks that what you see (Trump) is what you get in the Presidency, is going to have a bad time. This is a military operation. Trump is just the CMO of this Op.
Let's say that Trump really means that your country is just another State in the USA. Let's say he really thinks this (which, he doesn't).
So, what happens next? You gonna start something?
Canada has no power to mount any sort of meaningful "defense", let alone an "offense", against the USA. Especially against a non-aggression (if you can't take a joke, then that just makes you a sad sack).
Trump's comment is a trolling of a cousin. A ribbing of a friend. Not an attack on an enemy. If Canada doesn't get that, it just ends up looking like dumbshits. I recommend not doing that. Not a good look. Enhance your "cultural appreciation" or whatever. This is New York. We're not changing, for you.
Here's a goal: Be the country that no one would ever think is a dumbshit.
Until then, we'll enjoy your comedy shows and maple syrup.

Times change.
It's a joke. It's always a joke.

You are a breath of fresh air!
P.S. Lets role play.

See you when you get here.
P.S. I'm American. I'm already here. :)
