Trump in 2019 cancelled almost 1 billion dollars of federal funding and said CA owes the feds 3.5 billion for money they wasted on the project. I don't know whatever became of that. https://www.courthousenews.com/feds-cancel-nearly-1-billion-for-california-high-speed-train/
