Yeah, u/Oldpatriot is using this image probably to focus on the individualism of "make me" rather than the total submission of "Lord and Savior". Jesus did say "Follow me" and give other imperatives that can imply individual action, but our action is always enabled by and submissive to his; he says "Buy gold of me" but then "If any man open the door" etc. He certainly said "After this manner therefore pray ye", but not with a "sinner's prayer", for which he recommended just "God be merciful to me a sinner".
