Unfortunately, white males in SW have a major chip on their shoulders. Entry level jobs, where these folks have a nursery school diploma from these woke universities get them six figure salaries, with no experience in life.
I manage many of them and am in the industry... a lot of the new hires, complain, start a bunch of drama and bitch how a peer makes 1-3% more then they do.
Also its rare to find one of them willing to work an hour over 40/week (even w paid OT) and if programs fall behind, it's always someone else's fault.
Honestly, I agree with QDay. I know we'd rather hire someone that wants to work, and is good at it, instead of someone who wants a wine tap, no cap on vacation days, and carries their phone with them glued it it while on the clock. Most young Americans right now show up late (if they even show up), want breaks whenever, are rude to our customers, don't want to research to solve problems, instead they make excuses to the customer, lose the sale, then bi*ch to us about how they want more money... after they have let lots of customers they could have gotten commission off of walk out the door. We have a group text with all the employees, and guaranteed every day one will be late, or sick, or sorry!!! I got stuck in line at lunch and will be late!!!!!!... They don't answer the company phone, check the internet orders until we tell them to, forget to document pretty much anything we need documented... American workers are a mess. We need the work ethic back. Coddling college kids and workers has been a disaster.
The way things are set up it's impossible for a White America born man to be a more appealing job candidate than literally any other group, no amount of "work ethic" will change that. There's Besides that we shouldn't have to compete against the rest of the world just for employment.

Maybe hire from different universities? I feel certain I'm in a different area of the country than you, but I don't have the same experience.
