You’re not talking about the 10 Commandments I assume?
There loads of other “laws” and “rules” that achieve what you describe.
no, i wasn't talking about the 10 Commandments.
i was talking about all the other "laws" the Pharisees were putting on the people that people were so consumed by those laws that they were ignoring God and God's laws by being consumed by trying to keep all of men's laws.
imo, the 10 Commandments are a guide to a righteous and moral life and really not that hard to follow and people aren't consumed by them daily. God wants us to have good lives here on earth, not completely stressed over laws. He didn't say it would be easy, but He said He would be with us through it all.
but we need to follow Jesus and accept Him as our Savior.
Agree with most of that.
I believe that the Ten Commandments are laws not guidelines or recommendations. Written directly by the hand of God.
Breaking one is the definition of sin.
They are eternal. They were summarized (not replaced) by Jesus.
i agree, i didn't write that correctly. i meant for those who do not believe, that even just following the 10 Commandments you would live a good and moral life.
and the 10 Commandments are very straight forward, not something that weighs on you daily. you know what you are doing is good or not by guiding yourself thru life abiding by the Commandments.
i'm probably digging myself in deeper and why i hate text messages, posts, etc. it's hard for me to explain in words., but i do believe in Jesus Christ and keeping the 10 Commandments and being born again. imo, too much is put on a new Christian with religion when all Jesus wants is for us to repent and have a relationship with Him.
people can become too sin conscious and miss the true message of God.
You said that perfectly, and I also dislike this type of communication.
