I was on the H1B in the obama years and it didn't seem as bad as it is today. I was probably the way it was intended, where I was a subject matter expert for software, and I went back to Canada when my project was finished. I didn't want to have to race for another sponsor to stay it's just easier to setup my own business and service US companies from here then dealing with CPB.
