I wish I could understand the controversy. People at work that got here on H1B are confused by it too.

H1-B allowed for the shit canning of American workers in favor of cheap foreign labor. It isn't just the tech industries that profited off the program. The whole economy "profited" because the market manipulators decided making a quick buck was more important than paying employees what they're actually worth.
