Dems fight to Trump-proof the federal judiciary

They just topped the mark for confirmations set under Trump’s first term, but Senate Democrats are fighting to avoid Trump putting more of a stamp on the judiciary in his second.

Congress can. In the 19th century, federal judges were removed by the impeachment process for not following the Constitution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_impeachment_investigations_of_United_States_federal_judges
