Words have multiple meanings. A "sterilizing vaccine" is one that prevents the pathogen (C19 in this case) from binding with human cell receptors and causing infection. It is not a vaccine that induces sterility which prevents human reproduction.
I suspect you're right in this case. Not that the jabs DON'T cause sterility in a number of people but I don't think that's what the prof is talking about.
