Meaningless. Pistol discharges are not always visible per se, depending on lighting and background. And also if they are blocked from view by the shooter's position or intervening items. If the muzzle is in contact with a body, the flash will be blocked.

It was at .45 calibre I read somewhere, so it would have made quite a mess at close range. All very strange.
