Does that mean he would be out of office altogether and no longer PM - or just that he’s not the head of that party anymore? More directly, does this rumored “resignation” strip him of ALL his political power and remove him from any kind of ‘govt. official’ status full stop?

Thank you. Guess everyone is still stuck with lil Castro until Canada replaces him, despite him announcing his resignation. They always seem to stay and linger around like a smelly fart for months after they say they're leaving. :-(
