He resigned as leader of his party, not as PM. He "says" he will do this during their caucus on Wednesday.
The fat lady has not yet sung. I expect a Kamala style reinstatement as the liberal party leader and him saying, "Whelp, I'll continue on as PM since everyone in my party wants it".

Relevant qualifier in this statement: "... after the party selects its next leader through a robust, nationwide, competitive process"
If you read closely, his actual resignation today was as party leader, not PM.
Will you really be surprised if their liberal party "re-elects" Trudeau as party leader as was done for Kamala Harris??

100%, and I'll tell you why. There has been no real opposition to him. None. The only one out there actually criticizing Trudeau is Bernier.
I work with several Canadians and they all say he is finished as he does not have the votes to overcome a vote of no confidence.
I spent most the last six years in Canada with my ex, a native born canuck. Although it is true what you say, this was also true of Kamala... yet she became the Dem Nominee. The only difference is that Trudeau can actually speak with forked tongue while Kamala lost because she doesn't even know how to use her forked tongue for word salad. (Thank goodness for small favors)
No he is not running again, he's stepping down as soon as a new leader is selected.
