I agree but the business case makes a lot of sense.
It’s the least populated country. Only adding 56,000 citizens to the USA, that’s a small city. But it has something like 800,000 sq miles of area, lots water, but that’s like adding 22% to the size of the USA total sq miles.
That land might have massive oil resources and gold. Considering how few people are there, it seems like a no brainer.
Besides, being the coldest place to live (minus Antarctica), it would be like the opposite of Hawaiin tourism. Kek. Come to Greenland and freeze to death while sipping on ice cubes and slipping on ice. Oh wait, that already exists, ice hotels.
I understand -- any territory is potentially just another corrupt money pit for us -- but if Denmark can handle having Greenland as a territory, I'm certain that the United States can handle it -- and do a hugely better job. Plus, Greenland brings a LOT of resources and benefits that most of our territories don't. America (well, under Trump and any other truly non-corrupt administration) will make good use of them, for not only our benefit but ultimately for the world.
No one seems to be talking about it, but I'm sure this has little to do with wanting to add another state or to protect Greenland, and is almost certainly about "natural resources."
Maybe it's just me but I'm not much of a fan of adding more states or territories to the US. So many issues with what we already have.

I completely agree.

Yep, it's just you...
