No, but I'm a normal person who likes to play video games once in awhile.

Well , TenCent office in LA is only about 12 hundred yards from Google offices in Howard Hughes Spruce Goose Hanger. Why would they want to be near CIA property ?

It actually is a fun game. I found it after watching the show "Arcane" on Netflix. My age is that of one who had an Atari 7800 as a kid.

The first season of Arcane was amazing. Great story, characters & gorgeous animation.

It baffles me that grown men love to spend hours and hours playing video games.

But I'm old so I guess there must be a reason grown men would rather be on the couch than interacting with your kids, out doing something or working in the garage on projects.

It's a generational thing. You weren't born in the late 90's/ early 2000's, you didn't have these things hence you don't play them. I didn't in my youth, too much into sports and stuff I only got into gaming in my late 20's. All work and family, don't see 20-30 old dudes outside playing a pick up game of football so I played Madden.

You're right, by the 80's I was already in college or working, by the early 90's I owned a home.

In my 20's and 30's I was taking care of a house, working in the garage or out doing things like dirt bike riding.

After I got married, I was doing the family thing.

Bro, playing like an hour or 2 a week isn't bad.

If you're limited to 2 hours a week that isn't bad.

But a whole lot of millenials will spend hours a day on video games instead of doing something constructive or mentally healthy.

Better to watch the news and tv series instead right? Fall asleep on the couch. Thrilling. Me and my boys had amazing times playing video games together. We still do.

No, better to play a board game with your kids or work on projects together.

When the kids are older and gone, better to work on stuff around the house or in the garage.

If you own a house, there is always something to do.

I would love board games. But playing by yourself isn’t fun on a board game. Everyone doesn’t want to play a board game. I’ve seen this behavior many times. If a person plays a “video” game. They are basically a child. When in fact, projects don’t last an hour a day for a year. You can only sharpen your lawnmower blades so many times. It’s hard to mow when snows on the ground. And it gets dark after certain time during those times of the year. No I know your type. It’s my dad. He would say the exact things your saying. Yet come home tired after work, understandable. Eat. Watch tv till he fell asleep. So guess what I would do. I would go play Mario brothers game. Would love if he would play with me. But games are for children, so he was unable to. Let’s play a board game…tired. Let’s go play ball! Tired. But hey, so as long as he isn’t one of those guys who plays children’s games, he’s a man. You came into a thread seeing a “video” game heading. And had to bash immediately. The problem isn’t the game. Something that takes strategy, and a thought process to win. The problem is you can’t get into it. And that’s fine. But why bash the ones who do? You can’t help it can you? All the while, don’t miss your tv shows today fella. And I do own my home. And build them for a living. Love gaming. The more people to play with the better. Sorry you can understand this.

Reminds me of the Marine recruiter who came to my school back in the day. Loved those who played video games. Said their reaction times were twice what their parents were. A gamers mind is constantly worked. Not brain dead sitting in front of a tv or phone.

I worked road construction for many years so I know what it is like come home tired.

But I still did things around the house and did the family thing because that is what I signed up for.

I guess my generation is vastly different.

When it was too cold to go outside I was in the garage or shop working on fixing up an old car or refinishing cabinets, or some other home maintenance task.

When I went into IT and the work wasn't as strenuous, I was home being a family man.

Was I thrilled to play Life or Clue again? Not really, but what I was thrilled about was spending time with my kids.

Interacting with them, talking with them, joking with them, finding out about their everyday life.

As for strategy games, when the kids were older we played Risk, chess and games like that.

I admit, when I was younger, I put many a quarter into an arcade game. But that was before I had adult responsibilities and limited time to take care of those responsibilities.

If you are single, no kids, don't own your home, have at it. Play all the games you want.

But, don't neglect your family or adult responsibilities because it's easier to get lost in a fantasy world than to be adult.

That’s all it is, you just never had or saw the opportunity to game with your children or friends. I build houses for a living, know all about being tired. Last thing I want to do is come home and “find” a project to work on. Got enough to do with chores, house, yard, vehicles, dogs, chickens, etc. You never got to hang out with your kids gaming to unwind. Be it board, video, card, or even slide the bottle across the table game…it’s quality time regardless. And now I get to still have that time even when they live hours away. I started my kids on gaming very young. And knew it would benefit later on, as it did with me. My oldest son found his wife through gaming. Amazing Christian woman and her family. We all still play and talk and have fun through gaming. People who never got to have this don’t know what their missing. But I never see gamers hating on those who don’t game, quite the opposite. And really it just boils down to ignorance. Lack of knowledge of. Just some people want to bash things they don’t understand. Like me and social media. Despise it. But, I never use it. So I don’t know any benefits whatsoever. That’s my ignorance of it’s positives…if there is a such thing. Lord willing I’ll be gaming with my grandkids while I’m in the retirement home.

Same as spending your time reading or watching TV. You still go out and do stuff with your kids when you're not trying to relax.
