No. Tiktok is allowing the CCP a level of influence and subversion.of traditional American culture at an unprecedented level.
"We are the communists here" ... no. To even compare the US - in any way - to the murderous gangsters of the CCP is a false equivalency.
"China can easily get all the info on US citizens it wants by buying it from Google, Facebook, or Apple ...". They don't have to buy it, as the subversive traitors of these platforms have given it to them.
All of this must be rooted out, and will be. And when the full extent of the subversion by the Chinese Communist Party into the highest levels of government, media, and our institutions is revealed, American citizenry will be outraged.
We have been in a Silent war with these communists for decades. Communism is a cancer, and the enemy of humanity. It must be dealt with head on, and removed.
So you're agreeing that Google apple and Facebook give our data away, including to the CPP? So in what way is tik tok different? Is the data of American teenage girls dancing on camera somehow more dangerous to freedom than the data collected by Facebook apple and google?
Google, Facebook and Apple sell our data. All those companies serve the globalist totalitarian communist whatever-you-wanna-call-it agenda. Why not ban them all? Why not ban the selling of data? Because the US government and US corporations are buying up US citizen data as much or more than the CPP.
Why only ban tik tok? Because it's outcompeting the American data-harvesting companies. It's protecting Google, Facebook, and Apple from competition.
It's hard to believe the US government would be making any moves to genuinely "protect privacy" or to "limit the selling of data" while it leaves Facebook, Google and Apple running as usual...
There are clear distinctions to me when it comes to the origin and purpose of TikTok, and the nature of the CCP and communism in general. Nothing is done in service to others - there's always a subversive agenda.
And unlike the rise of our MAGA movement and president, and the founding documents that are our heritage, the Chinese people have no recourse. There are no elections, and there is no president in China. Using that term is an insult, and a con. There's a dictator appointed by the communist cadre. We're two different systems in opposition.
I support the ban. Looks like an option to divest is being offered by the president, with the 90-day extension. Let's see what happens
