Sorry, bad idea. Free Americans have always been opposed to having to carry an ID "proving" that they are free Americans. An ID was snuck in through the backdoor by way of the social security number like all freedom limiting measures have been. When first created the promise was made that the SS# would never be used as a national ID (like the income tax was temporary, school children will only ever need 3 shots, etc.). Try telling a financial institute that your SS# is private. Try telling your doctor, or even the power company. The SS# is a de facto national ID. Now we have Real ID on our driving licenses even if we didn't ask for it. What did Q say, protect your DNA? We're creeping ever closer to this ultimate ID.
I lived in China for a couple of years before the social credit system. Citizens were always having to show their national ID. It's like having to prove that your not a criminal to do anything. I had to keep my US passport with me whenever I had to do anything the least bit "official".
My SS card says for use only by the SSAdmin.
My passport is adequate
Yes but every organization uses it as a valid form of ID.
Just cause they do doesn’t mean they should.
