There are many government agencies all over the nation. For instance NASA and Military bases with civilians. That said, I had dinner with a "government employee" last night who lives in the south. He works from home 5 days a week. His agency is not sure how they will respond to the Trump EO regarding employees who work from home.
He stated that many from his agency who work from home are not even in the state where they were hired. Some moved to Florida, so they are on "Teams" meetings while at their pool. The agency said, "Their work is more productive, they are of course, happier and save the company money by not occupying inhouse real-estate. "
This gentleman is an "upper management" employee with accounting and finances. He is a Trump supporter and is excited for our country's direction.
It will be interesting how the legitimate workers will be parsed from the free-loaders.
Absolutely agree. My team was back to work the day after the COVID banishment ended. The site we staff, quite literally did not want any more than the bare minimum staff present - to avoid losing the entire manufacturing capabilities.
So, the team has been on-site for nearly 3 years. When you get back, you realize how much has changed (new manufacturing staff, new hires, lack of cross-training), but mostly the inter-personal relationships that form from daily interactions.
It can be argued that SW and HW Engineers can perform at home - which may be true; but they cannot train the next generation of new hires. There is sense of teamwork on a video chat. Some agencies work very well with each other, and showing up makes everything more productive.
It appears that huge numbers work from home, most are productive however some are not.
My message to all complainers....Teachers, nurses, child care professionals, health care professionals, all service industry workers, firemen, police, most in the banking industry, active military, all retail, of course restaurant workers, chefs, waiters, fast food industry and cleaning services all must show up every day to their job. For the benefit of our country, please quit complaining and just take the deal. It is a great deal so Come to work or leave. No one will think any less of you.
they have, at the very least, one step up from the poor coal miners who no one gave two shits about when they lost their jobs. these government employees didn't have any mercy on them. many government employees actually CHEERED the coal mines being closed down. learn to code m* f*ers.
From a family member perspective, who works for the government(social security), overall people the first few days were like “do what?” Some where more harsh like “I’m not doing that, I’ve worked this way for ten years”, kinda deal. Some are quitting, losing a fat check over “muh reasons”. That was last week. This week those that are still there are understandably getting the point. The boss man, manager, is like “this is serious y’all, don’t play around with your numbers or work load times”. He’s warning them to come in. And some won’t but overall, today, people are learning this is for real. Many are worried about their past workload records. Which were barely anything. I figure a few are gonna take the “deal” Trump has offered, because they’ll be fired ina few weeks anyways. Eventually a total assessment will be made and many loved their check, but didn’t work. My family has talked about this for 20 years. Those people sweating bullets right now. It’s all good my friend. Allll good.
Cool. Thanks for taking the time to send the details. This is all so amazing. Just a week and so much happening. Imagine with a month, quarter and year will bring.
Dreaming that some of the common sense will spill over into state admins…little hope for calirado but one never knows. A revolution is starting…
It’s amazing. My dad calls me and is like, everyday now is something. And I’m like, everyday, more like every hour. And as I told him, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Wait till these nominations get into place.

Man I’m praying RFK doesn’t get sidelined. That’ll bring the fire.
Then there are groups that welcome an audit. Please, compare my team against other teams - so we can staff up, gear up and do more.
