Normally Blackhawks go north to and south from the Pentagon. The approach runs along the river. I can’t think of a reason for the Blackhawk to be over the river. Going into DC is extremely rare.
No shit! I was a crew chief on a helicopter and safety was number 1 on any training flight. Training in a flight path would never happen.
That's what doesn't make sense to me. Even if they were training, would they fly directly across the final approach path of a major airport? With planes at low altitude and less than a minute from landing?
