There are some idealists, good-hearted people, who go to work in these agencies. They unwittingly provide cover for the evil ones, and either burn out, leave, or keep their heads down and never rise in the ranks.
AMEN!!! Lake County FL to start please! Laws were broken and a case was filed against CPS It was denied and an appeal was filed. It also was denied. Should’ve been a cut and dry win for foster parents. CPS did nothing to protect a beautiful little girl. I pray for her every day.
CPS is incentivized to take the children away. Each state has a certain quota they must make. Stew Peters did a documentary on this a couple of years ago.
This reminds me of a bill I saw in the IL state legislature recently - Dems are trying to extend civil immunity to the Department of Child and Family Services contractors, the same contractors who have been negligently placing foster kids with known sexual abusers, lying about the family relationship, and letting the kids get murdered in their "care." And those contractors are funding by taxpayers. Infuriating.
I just picture the poor child who sees adults with the power to save them doing nothing. It’s horrible then multiply this by 500, 500,000…. It’s personal to all of us.
One of my favorite Ytube channels is a farm in the Cherokee nation. The Nation likes to do everything they can to bring the family back together. The children there still get to see the rest of the family. No reason a child should not get to visit their original Grandparents.
Interesting you should mention the nation and how they strive to keep bio families together. The court awarded the bio dad custody of one of our foster kids on the recommendation of the nation (ICWA is it's own beast). The man they awarded custody to fathered the kid when he was 22 and the mom was 14. Against the law in all 50 states. Dad wasn't even the NA, mom was. I once said to the caseworker, "So just to be clear, you support granting custody to the white man who raped a Native American child?" Answer: Yes.
We adopted all three of the boy's native American siblings that same week.
The boy returned to us and we adopted him at 18 when he was able to walk away from his dad. I understand keeping families together when possible, but it's never as simple as that sounds.
I wrote this because almost everywhere else they completely rip the child from any relations with family. They also make it as difficult as possible to get your kids back, even when found the accusations against them were false.

Be careful. You can try to break this system, but the biggest losers will be the children who are in the system.
The way through this is to flood the system with quality foster homes.
